Lyric coloratura soprano Analiese Pappas was most recently recognized for her expressive and elegant portrayal of Adina in Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love with Victorian Lyric Opera Company (2026). After making her international debut as Flora in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw (2023) under the baton of J. David Jackson from the Metropolitan Opera with Trentino Music Festival in Italy, Pappas continues to grow her music career both nationally and abroad, recently performing concerts in the Périgord region of France with Atelier Lyrique de Dordogne (2025).

Her additional role highlights include Despina in Così fan tutte (2021), Gretel in Hansel and Gretel (2020), and Fiorella in Offenbach’s The Brigands (2022). Pappas also has performed opera scenes as Ginevra in Ariodante (2023) and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (2024), as well as Pamina & Papagena in Die Zauberflöte (2024).

Beyond the opera stage, Pappas has delved into choral and chamber music, with recent solo appearances including “Laudate Dominum” in Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore and “Rejoice Greatly” in Handel’s Messiah at Fourth Presbyterian Church. Additionally, Pappas sang Seraphim 1 in Schütz’ Musikalische Exequien and the soprano solo in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms with the Thomas Circle Singers at the Church of the Epiphany in D.C. She also has performed at numerous notable local venues, such as the National Cathedral, the Willard InterContinental Hotel, Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

An avid recitalist, Pappas returned to the Ward Virts Concert Series in 2024 for a recital featuring Schubert’s Der hirt auf dem Felsen and selections from Jocelyn Hagen’s Songs of Fields and Prairies after appearing as a guest performer in 2023. Pappas holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera with departmental honors from Northwestern University’s prestigious Bienen School of Music. During her undergraduate studies, Pappas completed advanced graduate-level coursework and practicums in vocal pedagogy, as well as courses in speech language pathology and physiology. When she is not singing, Pappas teaches a small voice studio and works as a registered nurse (RN) in adult critical care. Her studies and experience as an RN have piqued her interests in holistic vocal health and the physiology of singing, which she incorporates into her teaching and singing philosophies.
